A new entry into the Overwatch series is coming soon to mobile devices.
Blizzard Entertainment announced in a recent blogpost the development of a new mobile game set in the Overwatch universe. The game will be a top-down, hero shooter, much more akin to MOBA-style gameplay found in similar titles such as League of Legends and Pokémon Unite.

Overwatch Rush is not simply a mobile port of the base PC or Console version of Overwatch, it is an entirely new entry built from the ground up. The game is also not being developed by Team 4, the development team responsible for the main version of the game, and will instead be spearheaded by a dedicated team at Blizzard familiar with mobile game development.
The mobile game is currently still in development, and will begin playtesting in select regions at a later date. Blizzard has confirmed that any players interested in the development and further news on the game can join the official Overwatch Rush Discord, which can be found on the original blogpost.
Blizzard Entertainment has had a rocky history with mobile game development and announcement. Since the company acquired King Digital Entertainment in 2016, development and reception has been mixed for in-house mobile games such as Diablo Immortal.
However, the mobile game sphere has been very popular in regions outside of North America and Europe, as evident by games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang by MOONTON Games and PUBG Mobile by LightSpeed & Quantum Studio.
With a game series as popular as Overwatch, an entry into the mobile game market could give Blizzard a much desired foothold in the mobile games market.
