📝 JDG return to Overwatch
The Chinese esports organization JDG has announced its return to Overwatch by picking up Team CC.

Team CC has rebranded their Bilibili page to JDG守望先锋分部, or “JDG Overwatch Division”. Cao “Farway” Jiale, a retired former Team CC player who now works for the team in a behind-the-scenes role, said on Bilibili that the new JDG team is currently in the process of finalizing its roster.
While none of JDG’s players have been officially announced, fans speculate that some members of Team CC’s 2025 roster will be returning under the new banner. Liu “Kaneki” Nian, Wu “Superich” Gengtuo, and Li “Pineapple” Zhuo have all added “JDG” to their usernames on Bilibili. In a short post, Pineapple also wrote, “I stay.”
During the 2025 OWCS season, Team CC consistently placed second in OWCS China and appeared at all three international LAN events. Although Team CC found limited success on the international stage, the team noticeably improved throughout the year, going from a 0-4 blowout in the regional Grand Final against rival team Once Again/Weibo Gaming in Stage 1 to a much closer 2-4 Grand Final in Stage 3. Team CC even took a map off the more highly rated T1 at the 2025 World Finals.
As an org, JDG is best known for its League of Legends team, which competes in China’s League of Legends Pro League. JDG last fielded an Overwatch roster in 2017 under the name JD Gaming. This Overwatch team placed third in China’s 2018 Season 1 Contenders Trials, but disbanded in early 2018 before getting a chance to compete in the first season of Chinese Contenders. Eight years later, JDG is coming back to try again.
