Diya’s signing marks the start of a major rebuild for Milk Tea’s roster. Out of the team’s five-player lineup in 2025, only flex DPS Ou “Eileen” Yiliang will return for the 2026 season. Song “Insane” Chunhui and Zhang “Recall” Jingkun left Milk Tea to join All Gamers, while Ren “Unkn0w” Yanchao recently secured an OWCS China spot through Open Qualifiers with the team Homie E. Lee “R3K” Yu-shek went back to his home region to compete in OWCS Pacific Open Qualifiers, where he placed 5th - 7th. (In R3K’s farewell post, Milk Tea encouraged fans to check out 大力燒, R3K’s barbecue restaurant in Hong Kong.)

A true veteran of the scene, Diya debuted on the international stage in 2018, playing for the Shanghai Dragons during their disastrous 0-40 season. In 2019, he stayed with the new-and-improved Dragons as largely a benched player, though he did find success competing in Chinese Contenders with the Shanghai Dragons’s academy team, Team CC. Five years after his debut, Diya finally achieved his first Overwatch League win playing for the 2022 Los Angeles Valiant.

After Overwatch’s Chinese servers shut down in early 2023, Diya only occasionally competed in smaller regional tournaments like the Pro-Chaser Association. (He was also busy raising his infant son with his wife.) When Overwatch returned to China in 2025, Diya played for ROC Esports, finishing in a disappointing 13th-16th place at their one international appearance at the 2025 Midseason Championship. Diya left the team shortly after. The Milk Tea signing is Diya’s return to Overwatch esports following an eight-month break.

A fan favorite team, Milk Tea’s best performance in 2025 was in OWCS China Stage 3, when they finished third and knocked out ROC Esports in a surprise upset in the playoffs. This year, Milk Tea has received a temporary partner slot in OWCS China’s partner team program. Milk Tea has not yet announced the rest of its roster, but more signing news will surely be released before Stage 1 of OWCS China 2026, which begins on March 21.
