GgulTaek leaves ZETA DIVISION citing health concerns

After their first-place campaign at the Midseason Championship, ZETA DIVISION announced the departure of coach Kim "GgulTaek" Jeong-youn

In a later follow-up tweet, GgulTaek explained that his departure from the team was due to health concerns that had arisen prior to joining ZETA at the start of the year. While it is unclear whether GgulTaek will return to ZETA later, he thanked both the fans and the staff for their support during his time with the organisation and urged fans to continue supporting the team.

GgulTaek has become a divisive figure in the OWCS scene, drawing criticism for his actions while coaching the North American Geekay Esports roster in 2025. One of his former players, Riley “cuFFa” Brown, explained in an OWTV interview ahead of last year's World Finals how GgulTaek had repeatedly been absent from the team, ultimately culminating in his dismissal just before the Stockholm World Finals.

Despite the criticism, GgulTaek joined ZETA DIVISION in February, helping the team reach their first international LAN since the 2024 Esports World Cup and eventually win the 2026 Midseason Championship crown. This means that ZETA DIVISION will now continue their 2026 campaign with longtime Coach Park "Crusty" Dae-hee and Coach Lee "Twilight" Joo-seok.

ZETA DIVISION will return to professional play at the start of Korea Stage 3 on September 18.
