JD Gaming announce roster changes for Stage 3

In preparation for Stage 3 of OWCS China, JD Gaming have signed DPS Kim “Prophet” Hyun-bin and coach Kang “soo” Min-soo, while Wu “HaoYoqian” Gengtuo and Cao “Farway” Jiale have left their JD Gaming management positions to become the team’s support line. 

Along with these new signings, JD Gaming announced the departures of DPS Li “Pineapple” Zhuo, support Li “Mewtwo” Xianyao, and coach Zhang “LnlD” Shukun. JD Gaming wrote in their farewell post on Bilibili that Pineapple and LnlD are taking a temporary break from competing. Mewtwo has joined the team Solus Victorem, which placed 4th in the previous stage of OWCS China. 

Replacing Pineapple in the main DPS position is Prophet, who most recently played for Team Vision in the final few months of the 2025 Saudi eLeague. Prophet will return to the OWCS stage for the first time since May 2025, when he competed with the short-lived ONSIDE GAMING. Aside from his past career with O2 Blast and the Seoul Dynasty, Prophet is perhaps best known for his Widowmaker montage video “11”.

After the departures of Mewtwo and Zhou “Mmonk” Xiang left JD Gaming without a support line, veteran support players HaoYoqian (previously known as Superich) and Farway came out of retirement to fill in the gaps. HaoYoqian and Farway both became team managers after Chinese esports org JD Gaming acquired the orgless Team CC earlier this year. On his return to competition, Farway posted a Chinese idiom on social media that literally translates to: “An old steed in the stable still aspires to gallop a thousand miles.” 

soo previously coached the team Nyam Gaming, which placed 6th in OWCS Japan Stage 1 this year. Current JD Gaming tank Park “Roxy” Si-heon played for Nyam Gaming during soo’s tenure. Now, soo and Roxy reunite on the same team once again. 

JD Gaming’s new roster raises quite a few questions coming into Stage 3. Can soo, who doesn’t have stellar tournament results on his resume, coach this team effectively? Do HaoYoqian and Farway still have what it takes after working in management roles for seven months? And can JD Gaming overpower rising team Solus Victorem to claim a spot in OWCS China’s Top 3? 

Stage 3 of OWCS China begins on October 3.
