JD Gaming parts ways with Mmonk, Belosrea, and Kama
After finishing in 9th - 12th place at the OWCS Midseason Championship, JD Gaming has released flex support Zhou “Mmonk” Xiang, tank Hwang “Belosrea” Gyu-tae, and coach Wang “Kama” Chao from their roster.
Mmonk shared on social media that he decided to take a break from competitive play after JD Gaming’s disappointing Midseason Championship results left him feeling “frustrated and heartbroken.” He plans to use this break to reset his mentality and condition, and he hopes to return to OWCS next year.
Belosrea left JD Gaming to join Cheeseburger, an OWCS Korea team competing in the Stage 3 Open Qualifier. Belosrea was JD Gaming’s only tank player in OWCS China Stage 1, but in Stage 2, he was often benched for new signing Park “Roxy” Si-heon.
Kama has coached the JD Gaming squad since Stage 3 of OWCS China last year, helping them achieve two second-place stage finishes. With his departure, Zhang “LnlD” Shukun is currently JD Gaming’s only coach.
The remaining players still signed to JD Gaming are main DPS Li “Pineapple” Zhuo, flex DPS Liu “Kaneki” Nian, tank Roxy, and main support Li “Mewtwo” Xianyao. JD Gaming must fill their now-vacant flex support position before OWCS China Stage 3, which starts on October 3.
