The Ultimates struggled, especially in Stage 2, whereas Virtus.Pro have had a much more fruitful 2025. They have qualified for both LAN tournaments this year, and with the addition of a storied and proven player like kevster, they will be hoping to achieve the same feat and qualify for the World Finals at Stockholm at the end of Stage 3.

The Swedish superstar will now be playing alongside Kim “Jaewoo” Jae-woo and Nicolas “sHockWave” Jensen in VP’s new DPS rotation.

This move also marks the first time that kevster will be playing without hitscan Kai “Kai” Collins since the beginning of the OWCS era. Some fans, and even Kai himself, have likened this move to a breakup between the two, as it marks a serious divergence in both players’ paths.

kevster has proven himself over a number of years to be one of the most electric flex DPS players in EMEA. He made his name on several Contenders teams, including NRG and Envy, between 2018 and 2020 before signing with the Los Angeles Gladiators in the Overwatch League (OWL). He was one of the brightest sparks on a very successful LA team, widely touted as the best DPS player from Europe at the time. He won multiple tournaments and received two Role Star awards while with the team until the end of OWL.

This is an exciting prospect for kevster, as Virtus.Pro will be coming into Stage 3 after an impressive performance at the Midseason Championship, defeating China’s Weibo Gaming and AG.AL from Korea.

Questions have arisen about how Virtus.Pro’s trio of star DPS players will work alongside each other. Will we see them play some double flex DPS compositions, or will kevster take some of the hitscan responsibilities? Coach Cho “SMASH” Bee-won will likely be cooking up strategies that allow all three of the team’s DPS players to shine, but time will tell as to which lineup they will bring come the first week of Stage 3.

In any case, kevster will be looking to replicate some of his past success, and help Virtus.Pro gain ground on Twisted Minds and Al Qadsiah.

This is how VP will line up:

  • Ilari “Vestola” Vestola (Tank)
