Moon to sit out Stage 3 as Crazy Raccoon head coach

Crazy Raccoon head coach Moon "Moon" Byung-chul will not take part in OWCS Korea Stage 3, announcing that he is stepping back temporarily to spend more time with his family. He said the decision followed thorough discussions with the team and described it as a short break to regroup and recharge.

Moon confirmed he will continue in his role as director of the South Korean national team for the Overwatch World Cup, handling those duties online as scheduled. He also apologised for being unable to attend the fan meeting scheduled for September 26 and 27, asking for fans' understanding.

As it stands, in his absence, Crazy Raccoon will be led by assistant coaches Son "Kong" Jun-young and Kim "Izayaki" Min-chul.

Moon has been with the Japanese organisation since their OWCS debut and is among the most decorated coaches in the game. The 2020 Overwatch League Coach of the Year, who took that award during a dominant season with the Shanghai Dragons, has since guided Crazy Raccoon to four international titles and four regional stage wins.

Moon closed his statement by thanking the organisation for accommodating him and asking fans to continue supporting the players and staff competing in Stage 3. He added that he intends to return in stronger form than before.
