📝 OWCS Korea Stage 1 Week 2 preview

After an opening week full of statement wins, upsets, and an interesting standings table, Week 2 of OWCS Korea arrives with far higher stakes. With some teams already under pressure and others looking to keep their early momentum going, every matchup begins to shape the trajectory toward playoff qualification.

Cheeseburger vs. ZAN Esports

Cheeseburger vs. ZAN

Neither of these teams have been able to put together a win, and both will be hoping to get on the board this week.

However, ZAN have looked to be the stronger team thus far. They began their 2026 with a 5-map dogfight against ONSIDE GAMING, which they lost. Their second loss was to Crazy Raccoon, a tough matchup in which they were still able to take a map.

Despite their 0-2 record, ZAN have looked strong at times in an incredibly stacked Korea region.

Cheeseburger, on the other hand, have struggled. They have fallen short against tough opponents, namely Team Falcons and Poker Face. They weren’t able to take a map in either series, and as a result, will come into this ZAN matchup as the underdogs.

Poker Face vs. ZETA DIVISION

Poker Face vs. ZETA DIVISION

Poker Face’s undefeated start has been one of the biggest surprises of the season, but Week 2 will truly test the legitimacy of their form. After dominant wins over Cheeseburger and New Era, they now face a ZETA DIVISION roster that looks every bit like a championship contender.

ZETA’s flexibility was on full display in Week 1, with Kim “Proper” Dong-hyun, Kim “shu” Jin-seo, and Park “Viol2t” Min-ki all dictating the pace of games against both Crazy Raccoon and Team Falcons. Poker Face’s aggressive style, spearheaded by Go “D4RT” Min-hyuk, could find early success, but over a longer series, ZETA’s depth and compositional versatility should give them a decisive edge. This is Poker Face’s chance to prove they belong among the elite, but it’s a brutal test to pass.

Crazy Raccoon vs. RØDE ONSIDE GAMING

Crazy Raccoon vs. RODE ONSIDE GAMING

This matchup feels like a clash between expectation and momentum. Crazy Raccoon recovered from their opening loss to ZETA with a solid win over ZAN, but questions still linger around their DPS rotation and overall cohesion. Meanwhile, RØDE ONSIDE GAMING come off one of the most impressive results of the week, taking down T1 in a five-map thriller.

RØDE’s confidence, driven largely by Jung “Kilo” Jin-woo’s standout performances, makes them a dangerous opponent, particularly in a meta that suits their tank line. However, Crazy Raccoon is still Crazy Raccoon. If their DPS trio begins to click, they should be able to control the pace of the series, but anything less could open the door for another upset.

New Era vs. Team Falcons

New Era vs. Team Falcons

For New Era, Week 2 already feels like a must-win scenario, or at the very least, a must-improve one. Two consecutive 0–3 losses without securing a single point paint a worrying picture, especially heading into a matchup against a Falcons team eager to reassert dominance.

Team Falcons looked far more convincing in their win over Cheeseburger, with Baek “Checkmate” Seung-hun and Choi “Hanbin” Han-been showing strong synergy across multiple compositions. While their loss to ZETA highlighted ongoing inconsistencies, this is the type of matchup where Falcons are expected to dominate. For New Era, even taking a map would represent a significant step forward.

T1 vs. Poker Face

T1 vs. Poker Face

T1’s Week 1 was a story of two extremes: a dominant showing against New Era followed by a narrow and surprising loss to RØDE ONSIDE GAMING. That inconsistency now puts added pressure on this matchup against an undefeated Poker Face.

Poker Face’s confidence is growing with each match, and their fast-paced style could exploit T1’s occasional lapses in coordination. However, T1 still possess the more proven roster, and if players like Kim “ZEST” Hyun-woo and Kim “skewed” Min-seok can dictate the tempo, they should be able to overcome a fiery Poker Face. ONSIDE have already shown that T1 are not infallible, and a page from ONSIDE’s gamebook mixed with Poker Face’s current momentum could give them the win they’re looking for here.

Crazy Raccoon vs. Cheeseburger

Crazy Raccoon vs. Cheeseburger

On paper, this is one of the most one-sided matchups of the week. Crazy Raccoon, even with their early struggles, remain a top-tier team with elite talent across every role. Cheeseburger, by contrast, are still searching for identity and consistency after a winless opening week.

Unless Cheeseburger show a dramatic improvement, this should be a controlled victory for Crazy Raccoon. CR will most likely use the opportunity to continue addressing some of their recent issues and to integrate Jeong “Stalk3r” Hak-yong into their system.

RØDE ONSIDE GAMING vs. New Era

RODE ONSIDE GAMING vs. New Era

Whether RØDE ONSIDE GAMING enters this matchup with continued momentum or a stark reset will depend on their result against Crazy Raccoon earlier in the matchweek. Regardless, this series presents a prime opportunity to solidify their position in the upper half of the standings.

New Era’s struggles have been stark, particularly in their inability to play the objective game. Against a confident and mechanically sharp RØDE lineup, those issues are unlikely to disappear overnight. ONSIDE is likely to dictate the pace of the series, with their DPS line once again leading the charge.

ZAN Esports vs. ZETA DIVISION

ZAN Esports vs. ZETA DIVISION

ZAN Esports have already proven they can challenge stronger teams, but this matchup represents a different level of difficulty entirely. ZETA DIVISION’s star power and flexibility have been on full display since their first. ZETA should effortlessly be able to adapt to anything ZAN puts in front of them.

That said, ZAN’s willingness to mirror compositions and play aggressively could create moments of tension, particularly if ZETA underestimate them. Still, across a full series, ZETA’s experience and individual brilliance should see them through comfortably.

Game of the week: Team Falcons vs. T1

Team Falcons vs. T1

This is the matchup that could define the early hierarchy of OWCS Korea. Both Team Falcons and T1 enter Week 2 with something to prove: Falcons after their loss to ZETA, and T1 after being upset by RØDE ONSIDE GAMING.

Falcons’ strength lies in their structured play and tank flexibility, with Hanbin and Ham “Someone” Jeong-wan capable of dictating the flow of the game. T1, meanwhile, thrive when their DPS line finds momentum, with ZEST and Hong “Proud” Suk-jin able to take over fights. The key battle may lie in the support line, where Han “ChiYo” Hyeon-seok and Kwon “Fielder” Joon’s stability will be tested against skewed’s playmaking.

Expect a close, high-level series that could easily go the distance. If Falcons have truly stabilized under Junkbuck, they should edge this out, but if T1 can find consistency, this could be their statement win of the stage and set them up for a more successful second regular-season half.
