📝 OWCS NA Stage 1 playoffs preview
Four teams remaining.
The first international event in Tokyo is just on the horizon, and the remaining four teams in North America have earned their right to compete for two tickets to the Champions Clash. With the 2026 season shorter than previous years, the Regional Playoffs will commence with some of the region’s brightest stars and some surprising entrants.
LuneX Gaming

The former Sakura Esports-core has returned to a top four finish in the region, and are hungry to prove themselves further.
LuneX Gaming has been a surprise contender in the 2026 season, pushing both Team Liquid and the Dallas Fuel to the limit and defeating Extinction and Disguised to qualify. The strengths of this roster have come not from their adherence to the meta, but their own style against it. Both xten and Alexander "Zeb" Shepard have made a difference for this team by playing to their strengths, and are both eager to bring this roster to the next level.
But while this roster is passionate, they have struggled to close out series against the teams currently placed above them. If LuneX truly wants to break into the elite tier, they will need to prove it and take down some of North America’s finest.
Team Liquid

When Team Liquid were forced to retool their roster ahead of the 2026 season, their chances of making the Stage 1 Playoffs were almost nullified. Especially when they fell 0-3 against both Dallas Fuel and Disguised, as the newly signed Colin "Coluge" Arai and emergency addition Yasser "Escanor" Alotaibi didn’t make much of an impact.
That was until the team came back to win 3-1 against LuneX, and close out their regular season with a close 1-3 loss to Spacestation Gaming. One thing is certain: even when they’re down, Team Liquid have quality all across the roster and they’re not one to go down quietly.
Both Elliot "TR33" Chu and Xavier "zeruhh" Zambrano have remained a deadly duo that can take it to any player in the region, which has further been aided by the return of Boston "Infekted" Fine to the starting lineup. While their chances of making it to Tokyo are slim, Team Liquid is on the resurgence and will be a scary opponent to face this weekend.
Spacestation Gaming

After retooling their roster with pieces from the 2025 Geekay Esports, Spacestation Gaming has cruised their way to a comfortable No. 2 in the region.
The newest additions of Denis "Lethal" Tari, Benjamin "UltraViolet" David, and Oliver "Admiral" Vahar have transformed this team from strong to elite. With the level of experience and talent present on this roster, it’s no surprise that they found themselves contending for the top spot in North America.
As Kamden "Sugarfree" Hijada mentioned in their recent post-match interview, Spacestation Gaming is not simply content with being one of the best regionally. This team has their sights set on international competition, and are ready to make their stand as they chart their course towards Tokyo.
Dallas Fuel

As the only team with a perfect 5-0 record, the Dallas Fuel have officially entered into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.
When the ENVY organisation returned, reviving the beloved Dallas Fuel blue, they also brought their pedigree of excellence. Since rejoining the scene, the Fuel have been one of the most flexible rosters in the region, spearheading compositions around both Kim "Kellan" Min-jae and Luke "Lukemino" Fish. But unlike their regional opponents, this team has expertly dominated across a variety of styles, not bowing to the standard meta as others have.
With the level of strength this roster has, they’re looking beyond the region and seeing how they’ll stack up against the other teams internationally.
The playoffs begin April 10
The North American Regional Playoffs will begin on April 10, and will feature the above-mentioned teams battling it out in a double-elimination bracket. As it stands, Spacestation Gaming and the Dallas Fuel stand poised to advance to the Champions Clash in Tokyo.
But Overwatch is no stranger to the unexpected. With all teams having pushed one another to the limit during the regular season, don’t be surprised if any of the four teams find their way to the LAN.
