📝 shu leaves Crazy Raccoon

After two successful years with the Japanese organisation, Kim "shu" Jin-seo has officially left Crazy Raccoon.

shu initially began his OWCS career with WAC before signing to Crazy Raccoon after the Stage 1 Regular Season of OWCS Korea 2024, alongside the rest of the WAC roster. Since joining, he helped the team to an impressive seven first-place finishes, while most recently slipping to a 5th-8th finish at the 2025 Midseason Championship, and a third-place at the 2025 World Finals. The Raccoons achieved great success with shu as their flex support across many Korean Regional Finals, and successful campaigns at the 2024 Esports World Cup and 2025 Champions Clash.

On his personal Discord server, shu said that his departure was not related to military service and added that he still hopes to play for a “Korean team” in 2026. In later comments, shu mentioned how other factors influenced his departure from the team, but he is not ready to discuss them at this time.

During a follow-up livestream, shu expanded slightly on the decision. He said that while he hopes to remain in Korea next season, living abroad had been challenging for him, though he would consider an overseas move if the offer was strong enough. He added that a couple of teams had already expressed interest for 2026.

“It’s sad. I wanted to play with my team, and I’m more sad than you all,” shu said. “You ask why I’m leaving, but there are a lot of reasons. I can’t say them, though. Different opinions, and it’s not a bad thing. Back in OWL, we did this all the time.”

He noted that discussing the situation publicly would not help, saying that trying to explain the circumstances “nicely” or airing details would both lead to misunderstandings.

Assistant General Manager Yu "Pavane" Hyeon-sang posted on X (formerly Twitter), thanking shu for his contributions and saying he hopes the two may “have the opportunity to work together” again.

The departure of shu comes at a time of great uncertainty for the Japanese organisation. With star hitscan veteran Lee "LIP" Jae-won’s OWCS future unclear, and the opportunity for tank player Choi "MAX" Su-min to explore limited free agency, Crazy Raccoon are expected to be active in the off-season.

Losing arguably one of the greatest flex support players leaves a significant gap for Crazy Raccoon. It is currently unclear who will replace him. As an unrestricted free agent with a proven track record, shu will likely draw interest across the OWCS scene ahead of the 2026.
