📝 Team Secret enters Overwatch with OWCS Pacific roster

With the start of the OWCS Pacific later this week, on March 27, some last-minute changes are being made to the competing rosters. Earlier today, Team Secret announced on X that they were entering Overwatch Esports for the first time, signing the DAF roster, a hybrid of Thai and Korean players with experience in both OWCS Pacific and Japan. With this roster, Team Secret begins its quest to clinch a spot in the OWCS Asia Tournament.

Team Secret's history and name value are no secret, as this organization is a staple of multiple esports and has a rich history of success. The organization started in 2014 in Dota 2 and won multiple majors. They made their first big splash by winning the Shanghai Major in 2016, and put together a run in 2019, winning the Chongqing Major, MDL Disneyland® Paris Major, and placing 4th at The International 2019. Outside of Dota 2, Team Secret was a founding partner team in Valorant’s Pacific League, is a partner in Rainbow Six Siege’s MENA League, and placed 2nd behind NTMR at The Finals Grand Major in 2025. This team has a litany of success, and hopes to continue that story in Overwatch.

If Team Secret wants to win OWCS Pacific, they have signed the roster to do it.

On DPS, Nathawit "HyVision" Prajong has become the starting hitscan. HyVision has been the main hitscan for top-performing rosters in Pacific for years. He led the way for Nosebleed Esports to take first place in Stage 3, only to lose out to VARREL for a chance at the World Finals. Before that, he finished second in Stage 2 and first in Stage 1 with 99DIVINE, and first in 2024 Stage 2 with Bleed Esports.

Backing HyVision up on flex DPS is Napawee "Yoshinori2k" Suwannasak, a player whose Tracer and Genji dazzled back in Asia Pacific Contenders, before he took a step back from competing. He made a brief appearance with Full House last year in Stage 2, coming in fourth, but this will be his chance to go back to his dominating ways. On Tank, Korean player Eom "UYOU" Ho-yong will take one of the import slots to lead the way. He made his breakout last year on fan-favorite team Please Not Hero Ban, where he ran Wrecking Ball nearly exclusively (when banned, he would play Orisa). With him at the helm, PNHB consistently made the playoffs, and they got 3rd-4th in both Stage 2 and Stage 3 last year. While the quality of his Wrecking Ball is phenomenal, there are concerns that his lack of flexibility could hamstring this team. No matter what, UYOU will be an incredibly entertaining tank to watch.

On Support, Illari specialist Jeong "Yui" Jong-sun takes the second import slot as the second Korean on the team. Similar to UYOU, Yui comes from the Japanese team Please Not Hero Ban, where he solely played Illari, with a little bit of Wuyang or Baptiste when unable. Similarly, his Illari is exceptional, but the limited flexibility will be a concern.

Luckily, Yui is not the only support, as Team Secret has brought in Panachai "PaLee" Prathomchandee to fill out the role. PaLee has arguably been the best support in all of Pacific for years, as he's been racking up high placements with Hyvision. He spent Stage 3 with Nosebleed Esports, winning Pacific, but fell just short of clinching a spot in the World Finals. Prior, he finished second in Stage 2 and first in Stage 1 with 99DIVINE, and first in 2024 Stage 2 with Bleed Esports. His dominance in the region can be traced to his extraordinary Kiriko, which allows him to win fights on his own merit. All in all, this roster is packed with star-studded talent, and Team Secret backing them will allow it to blossom not only as the best in the Pacific but also as a team that could put up a fight in OWCS Asia and possibly at the Champions Clash in Tokyo. Be on the lookout for Team Secret in the future.
