Team Vision part ways with slowdive and D0nghun, signing new talent in Kayeose, cookie084 and Scyle

Vision has removed Majed “slowdive” Alhamdi and Park “D0nghun” Dong-hun from the roster, and added Abdullah “Kayeose” Al-Mudaymiq, as well as Moritz “cookie084” Schmidt and Simon “Scyle” Broström.Team Vision were one of the biggest talking points of EMEA FACEIT Masters last stage, and they certainly lived up to the hype. They cruised to an undefeated regular season and ultimately won their promotion to the Overwatch Champions Series.

Kayeose is a promising tank prospect from Saudi Arabia, who shone in Saudi eLeague (SEL) and the Midseason Championship Last Chance Qualifier tournament earlier this year. Primarily signed for SEL competition, he has also been added to the OWCS roster as a potential alternative to starting tank Tama.

Scyle has signed as flex support after The Ultimates disbanded. This signing points towards star player and Overwatch League legend Park “Viol2t” Min-ki moving back towards a main support role. Since Noah “Alba” McTavish’s departure from the team in late July, Viol2t will likely be the logical choice to play it on certain maps.

The expectation is that Team Vision will utilise double flex support compositions, which Viol2t and the team have traditionally been very strong with. They were even able to take a map off of tournament winners Team Falcons with one such composition at the Midseason Championship Last Chance Qualifier, so it is likely that they will lean into this strategy whenever they can.

D0nghun has left the team and signed for Los Gatos Guapos in OWCS Pacific, but previously only played in SEL tournaments for Vision.

cookie084 has joined from Team Peps and will be replacing Slowdive on the hitscan DPS role. cookie084 had a promising Stage 2, with some impressive moments on a mid-table Peps team. Lining up alongside OWL veteran ChoiSehwan, cookie084 will be looking to help his team break into the Major qualification places.

Kim “Prophet” Hyun-been has also joined the team, but due to the limit of two imported players in OWCS, he will be playing exclusively in Saudi eLeague. However, adding an experienced and talented player like Prophet greatly increases the potential of the team in that tournament.

Team Vision are looking as strong as they ever have on paper. They have shown signs of real promise through their dominant FACEIT Masters run, and have even troubled top teams like Falcons on the double-flex compositions. While most newly promoted teams are expected to be fighting for survival, Team Vision has higher ambitions. Their roster is well-drilled, experienced, and has clearly outlined advantages over many teams in the region. As a result of this, Vision might be a dark horse team to shake up the pecking order in EMEA and break into the top 3.

This is how Team Vision will line up:

  • Abdullah “Kayeose” Al-Mudaymiq (Tank)
  • Luca “Tama” Gal (Tank)
  • Choi “ChoiSehwan” Se-hwan (DPS)
  • Moritz “cookie084” Schmidt (DPS)
  • Kim “Prophet” Hyun-been (DPS, Saudi eLeague only)
  • Park “Viol2t” Min-ki (Support)
  • Simon “Scyle” Broström (Support)
  • Fahad “One” Aloqayli (Support)

  • Jung “Anamo” Tae-sung (Coach)
