📝 The French clash over the last playoff slot: EMEA Week 6 preview
The final weekend of the Overwatch Champions Series regular season in EMEA. A couple of games where the outcome holds no bearing for the teams involved, but a critical weekend for Team Peps and Goud Guys ANM and their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
Catch up on last week’s action in our EMEA Week 5 summary.
EMEA Week 6 - Day 1 (October 11, 2025)
Al Qadsiah - Gen.G Esports

Al Qadsiah have cruised their way from one 3-0 victory to another, week after week. This matchup might be just a formality for both teams, since Al Qadsiah have already secured their #1 seed in the playoffs, and Gen.G are also through.
However, this matchup’s result could heavily influence the intricacies of Team Peps or Goud Guys ANM going through to the playoffs. Just last week, Gen.G put up an incredible fight in their 3-2 loss against EMEA giants, Twisted Minds. They showed a level of potential that might spell trouble for the top teams in the playoffs.
A victory for Gen.G this week would give Goud Guys ANM a better chance of knocking Team Peps out and clinching the last playoff slot, because otherwise, they will be relying on Team Peps losing 3-0 in their first match against Virtus.pro, and then a second 3-0 defeat against them. If Gen.G win against Al Qadsiah, then any result for Goud Guys will do against Peps, as long as it’s a win and Peps lose their matchup against Virtus.pro.
Team Peps - Virtus.pro

With both Virtus.pro and Team Peps playing two games this weekend, this is a must-win for both teams as they both look to lock up their spots in the playoffs.
With Virtus.pro coming off a dominant win against Quick Esports, they look to continue their momentum into the playoffs and secure the second seed in EMEA. Virtus.pro currently sits at 4-1, with their only loss coming against Al Qadsiah, who are currently the best team in the region. Coming off the Quick Esports game in which they faced little pushback, they played mostly Wrecking Ball compositions with bits of Zarya when Ball wasn’t applicable, with Jonas "eisgnom" Stratemeyer playing full-time in the series.
Virtus.pro also showed a variety of looks, such as Zarya/Symmetra, Ball double-flex DPS, Ball/Lucio/Kiriko, Wuyang/Illari, demonstrating their adaptability with their roster, which will be key going into playoffs and their final games of the regular season. During their first game of the week vs Team Peps, Virtus.pro will be looking for a quick and decisive win in a similar fashion to their game vs Quick esports last weekend.
Similarly, this is Team Peps' first double-fixture weekend; however, they are coming off a 3-1 loss to Team Vision. During their series against Team Vision, Team Peps' best look was with William "Willys07" Ersson on Hazard, but they struggled against the variety of tanks that Team Vision ran, including Zarya and Ball, two heroes they will expect to see again in this series.
To get a result against Virtus.pro, Team Peps will have to show a higher level of teamwork and agency, especially against a team that loves to dive and play fast. Team Peps has two games to clinch their spot in the playoffs, and this is not the one they will be putting their money on.
EMEA Week 6 - Day 2 (October 12, 2025)
Game of the week: Team Peps - Goud Guys ANM

Both teams are looking for a place in the regular-season playoffs, and this fixture is their final opportunity to do so.
While Team Peps have an easier opponent in this game, it is not a guaranteed win as Goud Guys ANM have had some good looks earlier in this stage. Team Peps need this win to qualify for the EMEA playoffs, and will be hoping for a performance that will inspire confidence going into the playoffs.
As for Goud Guys ANM, this will be their only game of the weekend, and they are in a similar situation to Team Peps, with them needing a win in this game in order to progress to the EMEA playoffs. For this to be possible, Goud Guys ANM will need to be playing at their best, getting the most from their star player, Loïc "KroxZ" Ricci. In a recent interview with OWTV, the Frenchman stated, “I will F*** Team Peps up, this is all I want”. Never one to back down from a challenge, this shows the intent of the Goud Guys squad, who would love nothing more than to beat their compatriots and make it into the playoffs.
What are the possible situations for each team to qualify? If Peps win a single map against Virtus.pro, they go to the playoffs. If they get 3-0’d, Goud Guys ANM will have to 3-0 Team Peps. However, if Gen.G Esports win vs Al Qadsiah (any scoreline) and Team Peps get 3-0’d by Virtus.pro, then a series win for Goud Guys will suffice for them to go through to the playoffs.
Overall, we are expecting a closely-fought game with the stakes being at the highest they have ever been for both teams.
Quick Esports - Twisted Minds

Quick Esports will finish their stage at the bottom of the EMEA standings regardless of their performance in this match, and Twisted Minds are firmly in the playoffs. While this matchup has become more of a formality due to those circumstances, Twisted Minds will remain vigilant to potentially clinch the #2 seed if Virtus.pro falters.
Team Vision - Virtus.pro

With this being the last game of the regular season in EMEA for the year, it is set to be a close game, but as both teams are almost guaranteed top four, there is only seeding to play for in the playoffs.
With Virtus.pro hoping to build on their win against Team Peps earlier in the weekend, they will be looking to repeat that success against Team Vision. This will be a much different game from the Team Peps match earlier in the weekend, as the two teams share little in common in their playstyles. Team Vision favours double-flex support compositions and slower poke compositions, whereas Team Peps prefer playing faster in their favoured Hazard compositions. This will make it harder for Virtus.pro to prepare for both opponents, but they have shown their adaptability in the past.
Team Vision has had a somewhat straightforward stage, losing to whom they were expected to lose to while beating the opponents they were expected to beat. With Team Vision winning 3-1 against Team Peps last weekend, they will be looking to carry on their winning streak into the playoffs. During their series versus Team Peps, most of the time when they were losing points/maps, it was down to their poor positioning and willingness to engage their opponents. This was especially relevant during their loss on Esperanca. However, looking to this weekend, they only have to play one game as opposed to Virtus.pro. This will allow them to focus entirely on this fixture.
If Team Vision wants any chance of beating Virtus.pro, they will need their star player, Park "Viol2t" Min-ki, to step up. While he has looked the part against weaker opposition this stage, the ambition of Vision when signing a player of this calibre was to break into the top 3. The playoffs are where it really matters, but a strong performance or even a result in this fixture will be a welcome confidence boost.
Overall, this game may not have the most at stake, but it will be a good test for both teams as we head into the playoffs.
