In a major announcement revealed during the Overwatch World Finals in Stockholm, Blizzard officially unveiled the future of Overwatch Esports for 2026, and it’s the largest structural expansion of the competitive scene since the launch of the OWCS.

Massive growth for the Partner Team Program

Blizzard is dramatically expanding the OWCS Partner Team Program, adding China to the initiative for the first time.

China will have multiple partner slots, reflecting Blizzard’s commitment to increasing investment and competitive stability across the global scene.

In addition to the new regions, existing partner regions are also getting a boost:

  • North America: Four partner slots
  • Korea: Four partner slots
  • EMEA: Three partner slot

OWCS Pre-Season Bootcamp

A brand new stage to the OWCS ecosystem. This program will invite OWCS partner teams to Seoul, Korea in February for an intense week of preparation and training for the Season.

With an exclusive early access to upcoming competitive Overwatch builds, the teams will engage in daily scrims and collaborate with fellow teams and coaches.
