Meet Team Secret, the Pacific side with everything to prove
On March 25th of this year, Team Secret entered competitive Overwatch for the first time. Team Secret's history and name value are no secret, as this organization is a staple of multiple esports and has a rich history of accomplishments in games such as Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, and The Finals. They hoped to continue their success story in Overwatch and began their endeavor by buying a team in the smallest region, the Pacific. With this team playing in such a small region, the average Overwatch viewer may know nothing of their story this year, their accomplishments, and their star-studded lineup of Thai, Singaporean, and Australian players. Follow along as we showcase Pacific’s Team Secret and their hopes of an underdog story coming true at the 2026 Midseason Championship at the Esports World Cup in Paris.
Team Secret started the season with incredibly high expectations, taking the majority of the 99DIVINE/Nosebleed Esports Core that won first place in stages one and three in 2025. The core of this team was the Thai trio of Nathawit "HyVision" Prajong, Napawee "Yoshinori2k" Suwannasak, and Panachai "PaLee" Prathomchandee. HyVision has been the main hitscan for top-performing rosters in the Pacific for years. He led the way for Nosebleed Esports to take first place in Stage 3, only to lose out to VARREL for a chance at the World Finals. Before that, he won multiple stages with 99DIVINE in 2025, and finished 1st in 2024 Stage 2 with Bleed Esports. Yoshinori2k has a slightly stranger story, he dazzled crowds with his Tracer and Genji back in Asia Pacific Contenders before falling off the face of the earth. He made a brief appearance with Full House last year in Stage 2, coming in fourth, but this position on Team Secret will be his chance to return to his dominant ways. PaLee has arguably been the best support in all of Pacific for years, racking up high placements with Hyvision. His dominance in the region can be traced to his extraordinary Kiriko, allowing him to win fights all on his own merit. That being said, he has been transitioning to main support this year, and his Lúcio and Mizuki have been looking phenomenal.
For Stage 1, Team Secret brought in two Korean one-trick imports from the OWCS Japan team, Please Not Hero Ban: Eom "UYOU" Ho-yong and Jeong "Yui" Jong-sun. Coming from a team notorious for their inflexibility, UYOU and Yui were both one-tricks, playing Wrecking Ball and Illari respectively. This odd composition made Team Secret a force to be reckoned with, but very easy to ban around and force into uncomfortable positions. Despite this, Team Secret played incredibly to start the stage, sweeping every team in the region except The Gatos Guapos. This team beat them to make it to the Midseason Championship last year, and they were the only opponent Team Secret couldn't best in Stage 1. During the Grand Finals, TS took one map but was otherwise routed by TGG 4-1, finishing 2nd and missing out on a trip to OWCS Asia.
Going into Stage 2, Team Secret made some big changes, getting rid of UYOU and Yui, and adding three new pieces. They started by ripping apart TGG and stealing two of their Singaporean stars, Joshua "sgy" Lim on flex DPS and Marcus "wntr" Kwa on flex support. Both players were instrumental to The Gatos Guapos’s Stage 1 victory, and their inclusion on this Team Secret roster buffed the team significantly. This move sent Yoshinori2k to the bench, but sgy and HyVision reunited for the first time since Stage 2 2025. wntr (also known as kame) played with PaLee and HyVision in Stage 3 of 2025, where they won the stage on Nosebleed Esports, and their synergy was visible in the server. Their final move was the most shocking: signing Riley "cuFFa" Brown, who previously played for NTMR and Geekay Esports in OWCS. cuFFa described this experience in his recent interview with OWTV, explaining that he joined Team Secret because he was coming back home to Australia while on break from University, and that they offered him the best team for a shot at the Midseason Championship.
This new-look Team Secret roster started off Stage 2 rough, with a 3-1 loss to dark horse team Najdorf Esports, made up of Taiwanese players. They would win their week two matchup, before getting another 3-1 loss, this time to SHENGSHI Esports, a new roster built around the core of The Gatos Guapos.
It looked like Team Secret would be destined to be second in Pacific, if not worse, but they ended the regular season strong, not dropping another map and entering the playoffs as the third seed. TS started the playoffs with a rematch against NDE, and they even dropped the first map in a decisive 2-0 loss on Illios, before rallying around sgy’s strong DPS play to take the next three maps, flipping the script and winning 3-1.
They faced off against SHENGSHI Esports in the Grand Finals, a story we’ve seen before plenty of times. After starting strong with a win on Antarctic Peninsula, they would drop the next three maps in a row, giving SSE match point, up 3-1. Despite this, cuFFa explained that, “It didn’t really feel like we were going to lose if we just played our game.” And Team Secret played their game, going on to win three maps straight and overcome SSE for the spot at the Midseason Championship.
Team Secret opens their tournament against the victors of the Champions Clash, Crazy Raccoon. These organizations have never faced off before, as this is Team Secret’s first time in international play. With the pedigree of Crazy Raccoon, it is very easy to expect this match to be a quick sweep, but with the match being a first-to-two, it is possible that Team Secret would pull off some clutch plays and be an underdog. They are a wildcard, with no one sure what to expect from a roster this unknown.
