NA and EMEA crown champions in this week’s top 10 OWCS stories
North America and EMEA crowned their Stage 3 champions this weekend, and the World Finals line-up is starting to come together. Meanwhile, OWCS China and OWCS Korea set up their final playoff brackets, with a few more shocks along the way.
So, here are the top 10 things that went down across OWCS this week.
Dallas Fuel complete their 2026 regional sweep
After a short stumble in the regular season, the Dallas Fuel defended their regional title with a 4-0 win over Team Liquid. The 2026 Dallas Fuel are now the second North American team to sweep every regional title in a season, after the 2024 Toronto Defiant.
The title also marks the fourth stage win for head coach Eric "Wheats" Perez. That ties him with Cas "Casores" van Andel and Danny "Danny" Mychakov for the record. The Fuel will travel to Guangzhou alongside Team Liquid and Spacestation Gaming to represent North America at the 2026 World Finals.
The Kafe end 2026 with a heartbreaker against SSG
After a close 3-2 loss to Spacestation Gaming in the lower bracket, The Kafe officially ended their 2026 campaign with another fourth-place finish. SSG take North America's final World Finals spot, gaining revenge for their surprise 3-2 regular season loss to The Kafe earlier in the stage.
The loss was much closer than The Kafe's previous playoff appearances. Even so, this core still has only a slight gap to bridge to break into North America's top tier.
Team Peps reverse sweep Twisted Minds amid map reset controversy
Team Peps showed up in a big way in the playoffs, still carrying plenty of momentum from their French core's World Cup run. After dispatching 1234 to secure their World Finals spot, Team Peps defeated Twisted Minds 3-2 in a six-map instant classic that included a draw.
The series did not come without controversy. A disconnect on Twisted Minds' end allegedly led an admin to reset the map, wiping out the advantage Peps had built up to that point. Twisted Minds won the replayed map to put themselves on match point.
Peps still pulled off the miracle reverse sweep. With their win over 1234 a day earlier, Team Peps also became the first team in OWCS history to qualify for a major tournament immediately after being promoted to OWCS.
Twisted Minds take the OWCS EMEA Stage 3 title
Twisted Minds returned the favour the next day. They first defeated 1234 3-1 in the lower bracket final, setting up a first-to-four rematch with Team Peps in the grand final.
This time, there was no stopping the Saudi side. Twisted Minds defeated Team Peps 4-1 to claim the OWCS EMEA 2026 Stage 3 title.
Twisted Minds, Team Peps, and 1234 will now represent EMEA at the World Finals in Guangzhou.
1234 qualify for the World Finals and search for an organisation
1234 exceeded all expectations this weekend. After an early 3-1 loss to Team Peps in the upper bracket, they bounced back in style with a 3-0 win over Team Risk to secure their ticket to Guangzhou.
It is a complete turnaround for an independent roster that took a relaxed approach to its rebuild early in the stage. "There's a lot less pressure for real results at this point, and it's much more vibe-based," coach Jamie "Backbone" O'Neill told OWTV at the time.
On November 2, Backbone announced that 1234 are searching for an organisation to support them at the World Finals in China.
Team Risk fall short of the World Finals
Team Risk suffered two losses in the playoffs and were eliminated from World Finals contention. They first lost to Twisted Minds in the upper bracket, then lost 3-0 to 1234, which sealed their fate.
The defeat came despite Team Risk beating 1234 3-0 in the regular season. Like 1234, Team Risk were expected to finish in the bottom two at the start of the stage. Risk still finish the stage in fourth place, above EMEA juggernauts Virtus.pro and Geekay Esports.
OU Gaming finish the OWCS China regular season unbeaten
The final week of the OWCS China regular season saw four matches. The best matchup by a wide margin was the unbeaten, unpartnered OU Gaming against Weibo Gaming, who entered with a single loss to All Gamers last week.
The match went the full distance, but OU Gaming pulled out a 3-2 win. The victory made OUG the first team other than Weibo Gaming to finish the regular season undefeated. It also sends them into the playoffs as China's top seed.
JD Gaming miss the OWCS China playoffs
With their loss, Weibo dropped to third place, as All Gamers rose above them with a 4-1 regular season record. Another shock came at the bottom of the standings, where partner team JD Gaming finished fifth with a 1-4 record.
The final playoff spot went to Huneng Gaming, who also finished 1-4 but claimed the tiebreaker with a better map differential. Tune in this weekend, when two of these teams will earn their spots to represent their home region at the World Finals in Guangzhou.
ZETA DIVISION and Crazy Raccoon earn playoff byes in Korea
OWCS Korea held its Playoff Seeding Decider and Last Chance Qualifier this weekend, setting up the final six teams fighting for a place at OWCS Asia. The seeding deciders played out exactly like the regular season.
Cheeseburger were unable to take a bite out of ZETA DIVISION, Crazy Raccoon, or T1. ZETA went undefeated to earn the top seed, despite a close battle against Crazy Raccoon. CR beat T1 to earn the second playoff bye.
RODE ZANSIDE GAMING storm through Korea's LCQ
In the Last Chance Qualifier, Team Falcons comfortably claimed the fifth seed. RODE ZANSIDE GAMING stormed from the bottom of the bracket to the final playoff spot, upsetting SEIJI ESPORTS in an intense five-map series on Sunday.
This weekend brings a rematch between Team Falcons and Cheeseburger, while T1 take on ROZE, with both losers eliminated for the year. The winner of OWCS Korea earns direct qualification to the World Finals, so Sunday's grand final will have a lot on the line.
