📝 The ultimate guide to Overwatch Collegiate teams

by Jesse "Twinsalty" Brawders

Last month, we highlighted the history of Collegiate Overwatch and the format for this spring; today, we will shed some light on some of the top teams entering this semester. For each team, I will share their roster, the leagues and/or tournaments they are competing in this semester, and why you should care about them this season.

This article won’t cover rosters that are not playing this semester – including Illinois State University – or teams that have an uncertain status entering this season.

There are also a lot of acronyms for leagues in collegiate, so here is a cheat sheet as several leagues outside of the official circuit of OWC Varsity and Open will be discussed in this article:

  • OWCC Varsity: Overwatch Collegiate Championships - Varsity
  • OWCC Open: Overwatch Collegiate Championships - Open
  • OWCH Varsity: Overwatch Collegiate Homecoming - Varsity
  • OWCH Open: Overwatch Collegiate Homecoming - Open
  • NECC: National Esports Collegiate Conference
  • CECC: Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup
  • PCL: PlayVS Collegiate League
  • ECAC: Eastern College Athletic Conference
  • PEC: Power Esports Conference
  • BIG12: Big 12 Esports Conference
  • ACEC: Atlantic Coast Esports Conference
  • NJCAAe: National Junior College Athletic Association - Esports
  • UKY LAN: University of Kentucky Bluegrass LAN

The team order in this story will use the latest rankings from the Overwatch Collegiate Ranking Association, which was published on February 16, 2026.

The Favorite:

#1 Winthrop University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Infekted
  • DPS: zeruhh
  • DPS: s9mm
  • Support: UltraViolet
  • Support: Rakattack
  • Support Sub: Lyar
  • Tank Sub: Coluge

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 4 (1-3 vs ISU)
  • CECC South Regional: 1st (3-1 vs Cumberland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

Winthrop is entering this season as the favorites to win it all in both OWCC Open and Varsity, now that ISU is out of the picture. This team boasts unreal star power, featuring Team Liquid’s Infekted and zeruhh, as well as Spacestation’s UltraViolet. The story for the Eagles over the last two years has been getting over the finish line, as they have yet to win a major title due to ISU’s dominance. On paper, Winthrop has the perfect combination of chemistry and skill to sweep their way to both OWCC titles this spring.

Top Challengers:

#2 Northwood College:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Painkiller
  • DPS: Haven
  • DPS: Rokit
  • Support: Cjay
  • Support: Lep
  • Support: Vega
  • Tank Sub: Braiden

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 8 (0-3 vs ISU)
  • NECC: 1st (3-0 vs Fisher)
  • PCL: 1st (3-0 vs Fisher)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC
  • PCL
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

Northwood has everything you could want on a roster. They have plenty of chemistry from former and current OWCS teams, unreal talent across the board, and the ability to beat anyone on any given day. Rokit on DPS is dangerous in almost any meta and is by far one of the best in collegiate. Northwood was one of the only teams to get close to beating Winthrop last semester, falling 1-2 in the OWCH Open Swiss before falling to ISU in the bracket stage. If they can find that final piece to take down Winthrop, Northwood could return to glory and win its first OWC title since the Spring 2023 season.

#3 St. Clair College:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Tred
  • DPS: Juice
  • DPS: Alex
  • DPS: Reyzr
  • Support: Soax
  • Support: Redex
  • DPS Sub: Noxious

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 4 (1-3 vs Fisher)
  • OWCH Varsity: 2nd (2-4 vs ISU)
  • Queen City Clash: 1st (3-0 Oakland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC
  • ECAC

OUTLOOK:

St. Clair is the sole Canadian school on this list, bringing together a unique blend of OWCS talent and Canada’s finest. Since Tred returned to the lineup in the Fall, the Saints have taken a massive step forward into being a consistent Top 5 team. SCC made it all the way to the OWCH Varsity finals and the semis in OWCH Open, and even took two maps off of Illinois State in the OWCH Varsity title game. If St. Clair can find their groove in the postseason, they could be a dangerous dark horse team to the Top 3.

#4 Fisher College:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Iron
  • Tank: Raikker
  • DPS: Hydron
  • DPS: Talisman
  • Support: Kiwii
  • Support: Grapes
  • Support Sub: Narwhal

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 2nd (0-4 vs ISU)
  • NECC: 2nd (0-3 Northwood)
  • PCL: 2nd (0-3 Northwood)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC
  • PCL
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

Over the past few years, Fisher College has consistently been in the Top 5 of the Collegiate Overwatch world. The Falcons have great recruitment and a history of winning, but recently, it's been a history of only finishing on the podium. Fisher shocked many when it was announced OWL veteran Hydron was joining the team, now playing alongside Dreamland and Team Puerto Rico standout Talisman on DPS. Now that Raikker has returned to the roster after some time away, the Falcons have more flexibility on tank and maybe the right pieces to finish in the top spot of the podium.

Contenders:

#5 Bryant & Stratton College - Virginia Beach:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Dion
  • Tank: Pantera
  • DPS: Peace
  • DPS: Manually
  • Support: Nenwhy
  • Support: Prota
  • Support Sub: Set
  • DPS Sub: Slater

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 8 (1-3 St. Clair)
  • NECC: 3rd (2-3 Fisher)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC
  • CECC
  • NJCAAe

OUTLOOK:

Bryant and Stratton have remained near the top of collegiate overwatch for several years, being the highest-placing junior college on this list. The team has been anchored by a stellar group of OWCS and Calling All Heroes talent, including Peace and Nenwhy. Now, with the added tank flexibility with the addition of Dion from Dreamland, the Bobcats could challenge the top three in the playoffs if the meta falls their way.

#6 North Carolina State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: AROURAZ
  • DPS: Oblivion
  • DPS: Lobby
  • Support: Nellux
  • Support: BunkaChunko
  • Flex: Splice

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 8 (0-3 vs Winthrop)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 8 (1-3 vs Bellevue)
  • NECC: Top 6 (0-3 vs BSCVA)
  • CECC South Regional: Top 4 (L vs Winthrop)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • NECC
  • CECC
  • ACEC

OUTLOOK:

Entering the fall semester, NC State was relatively unknown outside of its success in FACEIT League Expert in North America. But that changed very quickly after wins against Fisher Navy and Texas A&M, and they haven’t looked back since. NCSU is incredibly well-rounded, with excellent chemistry and the stellar ability to knock off teams above them if they don’t give the Wolfpack enough respect.

#7 Fisher College - Navy:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: m5ri
  • DPS: Snowl
  • DPS: Atl2s
  • Support: Paolette
  • Support: Pirate
  • Tank Sub: Cendrillon

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • NECC: 4-3 record (missed playoffs)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC

OUTLOOK:

Yes, this is the second team at Fisher College, but it would easily be the starting roster at most schools across North America. For Navy’s standard, the fall semester was rough after missing the OWCH playoffs, following upsets by Utah and Northeastern. With the winter break addition of CAH standout m5ri, Navy has the right pieces to remain as one of the contenders.

#8 Cumberland University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Kerm
  • DPS: Kabe
  • DPS: Nody
  • Support: Virtual
  • Support: Schef
  • Support Sub: Barofsoap
  • DPS Sub: zynzl

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 16 (1-3 vs BSCVA)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 8 (0-3 vs ISU)
  • NECC: Top 4 (L vs BSCVA)
  • PCL: Top 4 (1-3 vs Northwood)
  • CECC South Regional: Top 4 (1-3 vs Winthrop)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • ECAC
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

After breaking into the scene during the 2024-25 school year, the Cumberland Phoenix remained between the dark horse and contenders tiers in the fall. After GingerRæfill left the team over the winter to stay home in Iceland, Cumberland promoted academy tank Kerm and support Barofsoap, who played with the main roster last spring. With a balanced attack of Kabe and Nody and an aggressive support line, Cumberland has the potential to make some major noise this spring.

Dark Horse Potential:

Graphic displaying team logos from the Dark Horse Potential category

#9 University of Utah:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Nosam4055
  • DPS: pdk
  • DPS: TeddyUhPieuh
  • Support: Sonic
  • Support: Rei
  • Support: Jamin

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • CECC West Regional: 2nd (2-3 vs ASU)
  • PEC: 4-3 record (no playoffs in fall)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • CECC
  • PEC

OUTLOOK:

The current best of the West is in the Top 10 for the first time since the OWCRA rankings were created. Utah had some mixed results in the PEC over the fall, but that was due to a rotating roster to accommodate OWCS commitments. But in the games where the full roster was available, the Utes went toe-to-toe with other dark horse rosters. If they can stay consistent, Utah could be a team to look out for during the playoffs.

#10 Bellevue University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Av2ry
  • DPS: Ivory
  • DPS: Stone
  • Support: Rajeem
  • Support: Hutch
  • Support Sub: Wicca

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 8 (1-3 Fisher)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 4 (0-3 St. Clair)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

The Bruins of Bellevue are in their final run with Av2ry before she graduates this spring, and are hoping to make it count. Bellevue made a step in the right direction in the fall with Top 4 and 8 finishes in OWCH Varsity and Open. This came after they added the former Blinn College backline duo of Rajeem and Hutch over the summer. At times, Bellevue has struggled to push into the top 5, but there could be some magic if they find their stride come April.

#11 Arizona State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Aurora
  • DPS: Jman
  • DPS: Anhoo
  • Support: Anghell1c
  • Support: zPanthr
  • Support Sub: Scylla
  • Tank Sub: Mythic

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 16 (1-3 vs NC State)
  • CECC South Regional: 1st (3-2 vs Utah)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

The Sun Devils out of Arizona are looking for a magical run before this generation of ASU Overwatch takes its final bow at the end of this spring. Arizona State has some incredible talent, including Amplify’s Jman, but have not been able to put together the results they’ve needed in the postseason. ASU will have their final shot at glory in May at CECC 2026 in Waco, TX, after they qualified for the event during the fall semester.

#12 Boise State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Stryder
  • DPS: CLEAR
  • DPS: Maksal
  • Support: Hex
  • Support: Lyric
  • Support: DayDream

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • PEC:

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • PEC
  • Mountain West
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you: CLEAR is on DPS for Boise State. The Broncos are a little tough to rank because they do not compete in either OWCC tourney, but now have some solid competition in the PEC. Their signature wrecking ball comp often gives teams a lot of trouble, thanks to Stryder’s level of experience in the lead role in this comp. It has also bitten them in the past due to a lack of flexibility. If they make CECC, Boise could once again play spoiler.

#13 Texas A&M University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Fern
  • DPS: Freed0m
  • DPS: Sunlessfiber
  • Support: SquidYK
  • Support: Joonba
  • Support: Almond
  • DPS Sub: ENCORE

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 16 (L vs Winthrop)
  • NECC: Top 8 (L vs BSCVA)
  • CECC South Regional: Top 4 (L vs Cumberland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open
  • NECC
  • CECC
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

If you’re looking for a team that’s always going to bring an entertaining match, TAMU Maroon would be quite high on that list. Texas A&M have practically become a gatekeeper to teams wanting to push close to the top ten. The Aggies have some of the best chemistry across the collegiate and will hope to improve on their Fall 2025 finishes, which were plagued by some unfortunate tech issues.

#14 University of Texas - Dallas:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Abdala
  • DPS: Fone
  • DPS: Erik
  • Support: Doyi
  • Support: Hermoza
  • Support Sub: Makabre
  • DPS Sub: Creg

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 16 (0-3 vs TAMUSA)
  • CECC South Regional: Top 8 (1-3 vs NC State)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

If you’ve been following collegiate Overwatch for a long time, you will recognize the Comets from UT Dallas. UTD failed to reach expectations last semester, after a surprising early exit in OWCH Varsity and missing the OWCH Open playoffs. After a close 2-3 loss to Cumberland to start the OWCC Varsity season, hopes are high that the Comets can return to their historic prowess.

#15 Briar Cliff University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: BobbyWasabi
  • DPS: Amity
  • DPS: Juvn
  • Support: Wedtube
  • Support: Benji
  • Flex Sub: Katch
  • Tank Sub: Limones
  • Sub: Zenr0

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: Top 16 (1-3 vs Bellevue)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 8 (0-3 vs St. Clair)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity

OUTLOOK:

Briar Cliff potentially had the most questions surrounding them entering January, after tanks m5i and Ceeful left the team over the winter. Those doubts were cast away quickly with their 3-1 upset over Bellevue in Week 2 of OWCC Varsity. Wedtube and Juvn have always been fantastic for BCU, and Amity is fitting in perfectly with the Chargers. If BCU continues to improve at the rate they have in the first few weeks of the season, they could easily punch up into the contenders.

The Packed Bubble Scene:

Graphic displaying logos of teams from the Packed Bubble Scene category

#16 Northwestern College:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Ronin
  • DPS: YT
  • DPS: Qwerty
  • Support: Meek
  • Support: Echo

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • None (team only competes in spring)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • NECC:

OUTLOOK:

The story of the 2026 Spring season so far is easily Northwestern College out of Iowa. The Red Raiders came out of nowhere and upset both Georgia Tech and Warner in NECC Placements to earn their spot in NECC Division 1. Since they only compete in the spring semesters, there is not much of a reference point on what the ceiling could be for Northwestern. If the first month of competition is anything to go off, the Red Raiders could be a giant danger for teams not prepared.

#17 Georgia Institute of Technology:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: scl33
  • DPS: Killswitch
  • DPS: Allstar
  • Support: Hayden
  • Support: Aceaid
  • Flex: Genesect

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • PCL: Top 8 (0-3 vs Warner)
  • CECC South Regional: Top 8 (L vs Texas A&M)
  • Queen City Clash: 3rd (L vs Oakland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • PCL
  • CECC
  • ACEC

OUTLOOK:

Georgia Tech may be one of the hardest teams to rank in recent memory due to how often its form can swing from beating contenders to dropping games to teams deep in the bubble. Standout Kashir will not be with the team this semester, as he focuses his attention on his FACEIT League team and competing in the OWWC with Team Pakistan. The Yellow Jackets will have to pivot fast, but they can jump back into the heat of the dark-horse teams once they adapt to the change.

#18 Cleveland State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: LE3
  • DPS: T3MP
  • DPS: End3r
  • Support: Social
  • Support: Muhiki

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Varsity: Top 24 (0- 3 vs TAMUSA)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity

OUTLOOK:

To be honest, the expectations for the renovated Cleveland State roster are still a bit up in the air. After a decent Top 24 finish last semester in OWCH Varsity, CSU gained Extinction’s T3MP and Social in the offseason. The duo previously brought Siena Heights to the Top 15, and I imagine the ceiling can be very similar for the Vikings. Sadly, the first time we may actually see them play another Top 20 team isn’t until early March against Oakland.

#19 Warner University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Chan
  • DPS: Hammer
  • DPS: Flash
  • Support: gnja
  • Support: Flynt

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • NECC: 1-6 record (missed playoffs)
  • PCL: Top 6 (2-3 vs Cumberland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC
  • PCL
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

If hot and cold were a collegiate Overwatch team, Warner would be the face of it. Warner has shown that they have the potential to upset dark horse teams, including wins against Briar Cliff, UT Dallas, and Georgia Tech last semester. The only problem is that they have historically dropped games randomly to lower bubble teams. For Warner to stay in the Top 20 this semester, they will need to find that consistency to be the team feared to upset, not the other way around.

#20 Oakland University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Krawi
  • DPS: Gren
  • DPS: Wolfi
  • Support: FrothyFilly
  • Support: Jax

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 8-2 Swiss (DQ’d from playoffs due to player eligibility)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 16 (DQ’d from playoffs due to player eligibility)
  • Queen City Clash: 2nd (0-3 vs St. Clair)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity

OUTLOOK:

To someone just going through teams, they may only recognize Krawi at first glance due to his history in the Overwatch League. But Oakland has some incredible pieces, including the FrothyFilly/Jax backline that is one of the best in the bubble. They had an unfortunate end to the fall due to eligibility issues, but could’ve made Top 8 in OWCH Varsity if they played. As long as they can compete, expect another great season from the Golden Grizzlies.

Alvernia University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Toad
  • DPS: Set
  • DPS: Optimal
  • Support: Gusty
  • Support: ScramPlease

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • PCL: Top 4 (0-3 vs Fisher)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • NECC

OUTLOOK:

Alvernia is such a fun team to watch and has a signature flair to match. They had an excellent finish in PCL with a Top 4 finish on LAN, sweeping CSUDH twice to make it out of groups. Even though their OWCH Open run ended with heartbreak against Oakland in Swiss, there is still a lot of belief that Alvernia could run it back and punch their ticket to the playoffs this time around.

Texas A&M University - San Antonio:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Wantrr
  • DPS: Crybaby
  • DPS: Coconut
  • Support: Eve
  • Support: CupidSoldier
  • Support Sub: VanillaHoney
  • Tank Sub: Goliathan

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 8 (0-3 vs Cumberland)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC

OUTLOOK:

TAMUSA was another program that broke its way into the bubble scene in the fall semester, thanks to massive wins against Grand View and UT Dallas, which earned them a Top 8 finish in OWCH Varsity. The spring semester has been a tad rocky so far, including being swept by a new-looking Ball State in Week 2 of OWCC Varsity. I’m not worrying about TAMUSA too much, though. Their signature comps have shown to push top teams, including Cumberland, just this week in a 2-3 loss, and will continue to place them near the Top 20 all semester long.

The Ohio State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: K1ngD0nut
  • DPS: Mafia
  • DPS: 1yum
  • Support: lao
  • Support: RET

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 8-2 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • PEC: 6-1 record (no playoffs in fall)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • PEC
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

I’ll admit, I was not looking at the Buckeyes very much entering last semester, but now they should have the attention of every team in the bubble. Ohio State was barely kept out of the OWCH Open playoffs with an 8-2 record, only being swept by Briar Cliff and losing 1-2 to St. Clair on the same night. Ohio State is in a fantastic position in PEC with an early sweep over Syracuse, and could make some major noise this spring in OWCC Open.

Ball State University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Mawnoah
  • DPS: Bordey
  • DPS: UCantCGhost
  • Support: Otta
  • Support: Dewcio

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open: 6-4 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 8 (0-3 vs ISU)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC
  • ECAC

OUTLOOK:

The Cardinals of Ball State had a rollercoaster of a season last semester. On the positive side, they swept their way through their OWCH Varsity regular season in the ESC division. On the negative side, they were upset in the ESC final by Kent State and lost their final four games in OWCH Open swiss. With the addition of Dewcio and Mawnoah as the only starting tank – instead of last semester’s rotation – the Cardinals will attempt to push back into the Top 20 after bombing out of it early last semester.

Converse University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Garchomp
  • DPS: Icysniperr
  • DPS: Vader
  • Support: Arlanta
  • Support: Chance
  • Tank Sub: Raisen

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 6-4 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 16 (1-3 vs Briar Cliff)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • CECC
  • ECAC
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

Converse appears to have improved vastly in the offseason after a bumpy Fall 2025. Converse was shut out during the OWCH Varsity regular season, not winning a single map, before losing to Briar Cliff in the Top 16. It appears the return of Garchomp may have been the final piece they needed, already earning a sweep over Ball State. Maybe the rough patches of last semester were what Converse needed to swing back into the Top 20.

Grand View University:

ROSTER:

  • Tank: Santana
  • DPS: Chloe
  • DPS: nyanza
  • DPS: KyoSohma
  • Support: cinnabar
  • Support: Solim

PERFORMANCE LAST SEMESTER:

  • OWCH Open: 7-3 Swiss (missed playoffs)
  • OWCH Varsity: Top 16 (1-3 vs NC State)

LEAGUES/TOURNAMENTS THEY ARE COMPETING IN THIS SEMESTER:

  • OWCC Open
  • OWCC Varsity
  • UKY LAN

OUTLOOK:

When you look at Grand View’s roster, Santana and cinnabar immediately stand out due to their success in Calling All Heroes and OWCS/FACEIT Masters. The Vikings have remained in the bubble conversation for quite some time, and that isn’t changing this semester. GVU were upset late in the OWCH Open swiss stage by SCAD, missing the playoffs, but will be hoping to return to the playoffs once again.

Other notable teams not included in this article with the potential to punch up:

  • Arcadia University
  • California State University - Dominguez Hills
  • California State University - Long Beach
  • Kentucky State University
  • Minnesota State University - Mankato
  • Savannah College of Art and Design
  • Syracuse University
  • Texas Tech University
  • University of California - Los Angeles
  • University of California - San Diego
  • University of Kansas
  • University of Nevada - Las Vegas
  • Winthrop University - Academy

Whether it's the rest of OWC Varsity or the superweekend in OWCC Open, this semester’s script for Overwatch Collegiate is set to be chaotic as ever.
