1234 sign GoldenPants as team searches for organisation ahead of Stage 2
1234 are heading into OWCS EMEA Stage 2 without an organisation after Anyone's Legend released the roster into free agency following the conclusion of Stage 1. The team retained their OWCS slot through the promotion/relegation tournament and have since made changes ahead of the new stage.
Luca "Tama" Gal and head coach Maeng "YaHo" Hyun-ho have both departed, with the team signing tank player Harrison "GoldenPants" Cawthra as Tama's replacement.
GoldenPants is a young British talent who made his name in FACEIT League Master Season 7 with Mewthree before impressing for BOMBA in the OWCS Stage 1 Open Qualifiers. He has since been selected to represent Great Britain at the Overwatch World Cup, where he will share tank duties with Disguised's Alexander "Tred" Madgwick-Smith. Known primarily for his Wrecking Ball, GoldenPants should complement Ahmed "amdp" Balateef's tank pool well.
Coach Jamie "Backbone" O'Neill addressed both the signing and the team's current organisational situation. On the name: "We're still looking for an org, so we're just sticking with the name 1234 — none of us are funny enough to come up with anything better." On GoldenPants: "We're adding him because we think he's very talented and can give us an edge when Wrecking Ball is in the meta."
The team are still actively seeking organisational backing ahead of Stage 2.
